And while it may seem impossible to change those things at present, some of us can fortunately make a difference where we can, using skills and experience that have been
years in the making.
Jeannie offers life-changing services to trauma survivors, domestic violence survivors, breast cancer survivors, individuals who have experienced human trafficking, and burn victims. Throughout the year, qualifying individuals who otherwise could not afford these services are selected to receive treatment
at no cost.

Areola Restoration for Breast Cancer Survivors

For many women, healing after a mastectomy goes far beyond just surviving cancer. Reclaiming a sense of wholeness and confidence is an important part of the journey, and that’s where an areola restoration tattoo can make a meaningful difference.
 
Areola restoration tattooing is a specialized form of paramedical tattooing designed to recreate the natural look of the areola and nipple after they are no longer there. This paramedical tattoo focuses on realism, dimension, and skin tone matching to achieve a lifelike result.
 
Providing this deeply personal, restorative procedure is among the most rewarding things that a paramedical tattoo artist can do and Jeannie is honored to be able to offer this with artistry and compassion.
 
Selection is based on eligibility. Criteria to ensure a good candidacy includes the following:
 
  • Minimum 1 year post-surgery and remission.    
  • Minimum 6 months post chemo or 12 months radiation. 
  • No hyperpigmentation in the area.  
  • No keloids in the area or history of keloid scarring.                                        
    Not currently undergoing any major medical treatments, pregnant or nursing.

ID Tattoo Removal for Victims of Trafficking

Sex traffickers who tattoo their victims as a means of branding, control, or identification leave their survivors with a painful and unwanted reminder of their exploitation. Removing these ID tattoos can be an important step in helping survivors reclaim themselves. If you are a survivor, advocate, or organization that helps former survivors of sexual trafficking, know that non-laser tattoo removal is a highly effective service for eradicating this particular type of unwanted tattoo. 
 
Selection is based on eligibility. To help determine the best approach for removal, please include:
 
  • A clear photo of the tattoo next to a dime or ruler for scale
  • Approximate age of the tattoo
  • General location on the body
  • A brief statement such as: “This tattoo was applied in connection with my trafficking experience.” (A case manager, advocate, social worker, attorney, shelter, or recognized anti-trafficking organization are welcome to contact Jeannie confidentially to confirm their client’s tattoo.)

Scar Camouflage for Trauma Survivors and Burn Victims

For individuals whose scars are the result of trauma, violence, or burn injuries, paramedical tattooing and skin needling can help diminish the appearance of scars as well as restore healthier skin functioning. While it may not be possible to entirely erase a scar, being able to improve the texture, flexibility, and overall appearance of any scar tissue can greatly improve quality of life both physically as well as psychologically. 
 
Selection is based on eligibility. Criteria to ensure a good candidacy includes the following:
 
  • The scar must be fully healed and stable.
  • There should be no open wounds, active infection, or significant inflammation in the treatment area.
  • No history of keloids.
  • Not currently undergoing any major medical treatments, pregnant or nursing.
  • Not exposed to any substances that will interfere with skin healing.
  • Certain medical conditions or medications may require physician’s clearance. 
If selected as a prospective candidate, you will receive a complimentary consultation prior to any procedure to assess the condition of the skin and determine whether it is healthy and stable enough to safely treat. Depending on medical history and circumstances, medical clearance may also be requested before treatment can be scheduled.
