When can I come in for an appointment?

In-person office hours are by appointment only on Fridays from 12 – 5pm, Saturdays from 12 – 5pm and Sundays from 10 – 2pm. Appointments can be made by clicking here. You are always welcome to email me photos ahead of time for a complimentary preliminary assessment to make sure that I can help with your issue. Calls with questions are welcome at any time and if I am unable to pick up the phone, they will be returned as soon as possible.

What kind of appointment should I book?

Appointments are available for either a consultation only OR a procedure appointment. Please note that a consultation may not allow time for the actual procedure. If you want to make sure that you can begin one or more procedures immediately after your consultation, you can save a trip by selecting New Cosmetic Tattoo Work or First Appointment for your desired procedure. A thorough consultation is always part of the appointment for any New Cosmetic Tattoo Work.

Consultation appointments are $50 for a single procedure and $75 for multiple procedures. Quotes are guaranteed for 6 months and the fee for the consultation will be applied to the cost of your procedure.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

For eyebrow, eyeliner and lip color appointments (including consultations), please come with a clean face so I can give you an approximate preview of what your new features can look like. After discussing any shape and style preferences, you will be matched with a pigment customized for your coloring and then drawn on similar to a makeup application. Once that is done, the number of visits for the procedure and a quote based on the desired end results can be provided.

For areas below the neck, please be sure to wear clothing that is loose fitting so that any areas of the skin to be treated will not be constricted afterwards.

Special needs or circumstances (medications, sensitivity, pregnant/nursing, etc.)

Are you super sensitive? Ample topical numbing solution is always used and is usually sufficient for most people. However, if you are particularly sensitive it may be helpful to take something prior to your procedure that you would normally take for discomfort. An OTC topical anesthetic such as 4% or 5% L.M.X. may also help with brows if applied an hour prior to your procedure.

Pregnant or nursing? Please make sure that you have your OBGYN or the pediatrician’s signed consent for your procedure otherwise I will not be able to work on you.

Do you have a history of allergic reactions and are concerned about how your skin might react to a cosmetic tattoo procedure? Or do you have extensive scars to camouflage and would like to observe results in a small area first before committing to a full procedure? A patch test can be performed with any consultation to provide you with additional peace of mind. A patch test fee is a minimum of $150 and is non-refundable and non-applicable to the cost of the procedure. If you opt for a patch test at the time of the consultation, the cost of the consultation will still be applied to the cost of a full procedure.

Prone to excessive bleeding? Please refrain from taking any blood thinning supplements such as fish oils and Vitamin E and discretionary blood pressure medication such as spironolactone for at least 2 weeks before your procedure as they may contribute excessive bleeding which then impedes the pigment from taking hold in the skin.

Follow Up Appointments

If this is your first visit for any cosmetic tattoo at JuvEssentials, keep in mind that you will need at least 1 follow up visit to complete your procedure. With eyebrows more than 95% of clients will need 2 follow ups while the lash enhancement and lip enhancement require at least 1 follow up visit (subsequent visits thereafter will continue to add more color and volume). Non-laser tattoo removal and cosmetic tattoo corrections, skin camouflage, melanocyte restoration, and skin needling for scars, lines/wrinkles, discoloration, etc. also tend to be a multi-procedure process depending on the severity of skin issues and generally need anywhere from 2-6 weeks in between visits. Brows and eyes require 4 weeks in between visits while lips require 6 weeks. If you are a returning client whose previous work has faded significantly, it is also likely that you will require more than one touch up session to achieve and maintain optional results.

Transportation & Parking

For public transportation, the Powell Street BART/MUNI station is a 4 block walk north on Powell Street and then one block going left to 490 Post Street.

For garage parking, the closest is the 520 Mason Street Garage located around the corner from the 490 Post street building. Along with metered street parking, the closest public garage is Union Square Garage just one and a half blocks away underneath Union Square on Post Street between Powell and Stockton streets. Street parking at any meter is currently free on Sundays.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

A 48-hour cancellation policy is in effect for all appointments. A cancellation fee (50% of the minimum procedure cost) can be charged for any no-shows and late cancellations. However if a cancellation made less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment can still be filled, you will not be charged the cancellation fee. If you need to cancel or reschedule with sufficient notice, please do so through the Booksy appointment scheduling platform. If it is with less than 48 hours notice, please contact me ASAP so I can try to fill the appointment.

I look forward to helping you achieve your desired results,

Jeannie
