How many years have you been doing permanent makeup?

This, of course, is a great question to ask of anyone who will be performing a personal service that can potentially have a lasting impact on your appearance. It’s good to keep in mind that the answer may not be wholly dependent on a particular length of time, say 10 or 20 years, because that may not necessarily be indicative of a technician’s breadth of experience (especially if the technician has not been consistently doing cosmetic tattooing as their core business) or more importantly, their degree of skill (makeup artistry is part technique or execution, and part ability to know how to make a face look like the best version of itself).

I have personally been doing this job since the fall of 2004 and there’s a counter on the procedures pages of this website that periodically tallies all the procedures I’ve performed thus far. While that’s mostly a way for me to keep a record of how much I’ve worked, more meaningful to a potential client should be examples of the work done on other clients whose situation he or she can relate to.
